This day, 9/11, is a day that will always require reflection and remembrance in our country. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing on the day of 9/11 but many of my students were not even born when it happened. I was surprised that, even when I taught in New York City, my students knew very little about the attacks.
For the past few years, on 9/11, I've shown a few of these NPR storycorps videos in class. Even through the unbelievable sadness there's something beautiful in listening to the stories of those who died, passing them on, and keeping their memory alive.
